The South Africa Social Security Agency facilitate the citizens through the Social Relief of Stress (SRD) Grant. - A new page opens that asks for a phone number. Enter your mobile number.
- Press the “send SMS” button.
- An OTP is sent on your mobile. Insert the OTP code and press the “verify pin” button.
- A drop-down list appears with the “Consent” title. Under the box “the declaration” is seen in blue colour press on it and read it. It defines the criteria for qualifying and defines the terms and conditions.
- Yes: If you agree the application process starts. A form appears in front of you. No: If you don’t agree the application process ends. Now you no not eligible for a grant.
- Fill out the form and click on “submit”.
- After the application submission, you move to the confirmation page. Save your 6-digit application ID so that you can use it when needed.
Criteria for Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant)
If you fulfil these criteria, then you must be eligible for the SASAA Grant for Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders.
- You must have to stay in South Africa.
- You must be an asylum seeker or special permit holder.
- Your age must be greater than 18 years.
- You must have to pass the mean test of SASSA.
- You must earn R624 or less per month.
- You didn’t receive any social grant from any source.
- You have insufficient means of finance to support yourself.
- You didn’t receive any stipend from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
